چکیده

Abstract Background Obesity‐related asthma, a specific type of tends to have more severe symptoms and frequent exacerbations, it is insensitive standard medications. Plumbagin (PLB) has many positive effects on human health. However, remains unclear whether PLB protects against obesity‐related asthma. The study investigated the effect Methods Four‐week‐old male C57BL6/J mice were fed either standard‐chow diet or high‐fat (HFD). sensitized 100 μg ovalbumin (OVA) once week intraperitoneally injected with 1 mg/kg daily from Week 10 11 then challenged OVA twice day 12. lung tissue bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) collected 48 h after first challenge. Results HFD enhanced inflammatory cell infiltration within airways increased total eosinophil counts, levels eosinophil‐related cytokines, including interleukin‐4 (IL‐4), IL‐5, eotaxin in BALF, oxidative stress tissues asthmatic mice. reduced airway walls, cytokines obese In addition, restored HFD‐induced decreases adenosine monophosphate‐activated protein kinase (AMPK) phosphorylation. Conclusion suggested that exacerbated inflammation stress, while probably alleviated activated AMPK pathway attenuate obesity‐associated Thus, likely had potential treat

Dalteparin as a Novel Therapeutic Agent to Prevent Diabetic Encephalopathy by Targeting Oxidative Stress and Inflammation

Introduction: Hepcidin is the principal modulator of systemic iron metabolism, and its role in the brain has been clarified recently. Studies have shown hepcidin plays an important role for in neuronal iron load and inflammation. This is of significance because neuronal iron load and inflammation are pathophysiological processes that have been highly linked to neurodegeneration. Moreover, the a...

Empagliflozin alleviates renal inflammation and oxidative stress in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats partly by repressing HMGB1-TLR4 receptor axis

Objective(s): Empagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor, possesses verified anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative stress effects against diabetic nephropathy. The present investigation aims to examine empagliflozin effects on the renal levels of high mobility group box-1 (HMGB1), a potent inflammatory cytokine, and its respective receptor toll-like receptor-4 (TLR-4) in ...

Aqueous Garlic Extract Alleviates Oxidative Stress and Inflammation in Retinal Tissue of Rats with Diabetes Type 2

Background and Objective: Retinopathy is a common difficulty in diabetic subjects. Hyperglycemia damages the tissues through stimulation of oxidative stress and inflammation. Since the antioxidant function of garlic has been proven, in the current report the activity of aqueous garlic extract (AGE) upon the oxidative stress and inflammation in the retinal substances of rats with diabetes was in...

Myricitrin Alleviates Oxidative Stress-induced Inflammation and Apoptosis and Protects Mice against Diabetic Cardiomyopathy

Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) has been increasingly considered as a main cause of heart failure and death in diabetic patients. At present, no effective treatment exists to prevent its development. In the present study, we describe the potential protective effects and mechanisms of myricitrin (Myr) on the cardiac function of streptozotosin-induced diabetic mice and on advanced glycation end pro...

Effects of microRNA-19b on airway remodeling, airway inflammation and degree of oxidative stress by targeting TSLP through the Stat3 signaling pathway in a mouse model of asthma

This study explored the effects of microRNA-19b (miR-19b) on airway remodeling, airway inflammation, and degree of oxidative stress in a mouse model of asthma. Bioinformatics analyses and dual luciferase reporter gene assays revealed that thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) is a direct target of miR-19b. An asthma model was established via ovalbumin (OVA) sensitization and challenge in 72 femal...
